About

An academic path built between the classroom, the lab, and the SOC.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), a Centrally Funded Technical Institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India — where I also serve as Chief Information Security Officer. My research centers on cybersecurity and AI security: building systems that stay trustworthy, secure, and resilient under adversarial and resource-constrained conditions.

My research interests span cybersecurity, adversarial machine learning, secure AI, IoT security, federated learning, trustworthy AI, and delay-tolerant networks. I've published in leading IEEE conferences and SCI/SCIE-indexed journals, and I contribute to the field through PhD supervision, editorial responsibilities, peer review, and conference organization.

I currently serve as Co-Principal Investigator on a HEFA CSR-funded project on AI-enabled multi-drone cooperative monitoring for road safety and landslide detection in hill terrain, and as Principal Investigator on a SLIET seed grant developing a machine-learning framework for detecting malicious traffic in wireless networks.

Beyond the lab, I hold Senior Membership with IEEE and INAE, sit on the editorial board of Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio), and review for a range of IEEE Transactions and Springer/Elsevier journals. My academic goal is to advance secure and intelligent computing through impactful research, research-led teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, and institutional leadership.

I also try to put security expertise to public use — coordinating SLIET's Cyber Crisis Management Plan under a Ministry of Education initiative, organizing Safer Internet Day, and training law-enforcement officers of the National Investigation Agency in cyber-crime investigation. I see digital-safety awareness as part of an academic's responsibility to the wider community, not a side activity.
